Standard Premiums of the Voluntary Health Insurance Scheme Certified Plans

The Voluntary Health Insurance Scheme ("VHIS") is a policy initiative implemented by the Food and Health Bureau ("FHB") to regulate the indemnity hospital insurance plans ("IHIP") offered to individuals. A "Certified Plan" shall mean an individual IHIP certified by FHB as VHIS compliant, including two categories, namely the Standard Plan and Flexi Plans.  "Standard Premium" shall mean the basic premium for the coverage under a Certified Plan, as charged by the insurance company on an overall portfolio basis, which may be adjusted in accordance with the age, gender and/or lifestyle factors of the insured person.
